To each their own

My mum likes travelling in the car

To destinations near and far

She doesn’t care how long it takes

But likes to stop for tea and cakes

She always takes a box of sweets

For her and dad – some little treats

She knows the route to everywhere

A human ‘sat nav’ in the chair

My father drives the livelong day

To keep her happy (best that way)

Arriving almost spoils her fun

My mother is a funny one
