She sat all alone, apart from the litter

Rejected by mother and brother and sister

She’d not seen their faces, she was blind from birth

The kitten was well aware of her worth

She could hear the sounds of her siblings at play

And her Mother’s soft tones urging them not to stray

She stood when the car pulled into the drive

And calmly committed suicide
